RICERCA
His major research fields of interest are: selection/isolation of filamentous fungi for the production of enzymes and/or other by-products of potential industrial and environmental interest; set up of fermentation processes (in bioreactors at laboratory scale both in liquid and in solid-state culture) for the production of biomasses, enzymes or other by-products (organic acids, pigments, polysaccharides, etc.) by yeasts or filamentous fungi (the so called “White Biotechnologies”); up-grading and valorization via fermentation of agriculture and food industry residues, wastes and wastewaters; bioremediation and biotreatment of contaminated soils, toxic wastes and wastewaters. He has authored more than 120 articles published in various national and international journals. (for details see attached CV)
