28th June - 9th July 2021   -      IntoMe STS_Programme(link)

The Summer Training School (STS) on “Legal and Political Challenges of Migrants’ Integration in Europe” is one of the forefront activities of the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence on the Integration of Migrants in Europe (IntoME), established last September at the DISTU Department of the University of Tuscia.
The STS is an intensive two-week course, based on an interactive programme of lectures, seminars and workgroups, offering Master’s, PhD, Erasmus and international students an extensive and thorough understanding of the phenomenon of migrants’ integration.

Content-wise, three key dimensions will be explored from a variety of viewpoints, including their legal, political, social, economic and geographical standing:

a) pre-entry and early integration measures and practices, including access to the labour market and basic social services;

b) mid-term integration strategies,including access to welfare and non-discrimination legislation;

c) long-lasting integration measures, encompassing social inclusion strategies and urban/municipal integration.

With a view to offering high-level theoretical skills and practical competences, all lectures will be given by leading academics, practitioners and experts in the fields of labour law, welfare studies and public policies, geography and territorial processes. Lectures and seminars will be delivered in English and this will be also the working language for the training sessions arranged at the end of each week. The full programme of the activities is attached below.
Due to COVID-19, this year the STS activities have been exceptionally scheduled online. In addition, thanks to the support of the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union provided by the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence on the Integration of Migrants in Europe (IntoME), the registration to the STS is free of charge.
